Hell’s Gate Airtram
2013 – Chinese Legacies Exhibit - Depicting the lives of the Chinese labourers during the construction of the CP Railway in the 1880’s.
Drive the Scenic Fraser Canyon with its’ seven mountain tunnels into the historic heart of British Columbia and visit the biggest ‘rush’ on the Gold Rush Trail. Early explorers refer to it as “a place where no human being should venture”, and man & nature battle here for supremacy. The tram ride exchanges mountain ranges and crosses over the Hell's Gate gorge - the narrowest and deepest point on the Fraser River with over 200 million gallons of water per minute squeezing through - that's twice the volume of Niagara Falls!. The massive International Fishways flank either side of the river assisting millions of salmon each year to reach their spawning grounds. The village below is home to Simon's Cafe, Gold Panner Gift Shop, Fudge Factory, Education Center, Simon's Wall, Gold Panning, Suspension Bridge, and Observation Decks.
