Immerse yourself in the world of wild-collected plants at UBC Botanical Garden! Garden highlights include internationally recognized collections of magnolias and maples. Stroll through our impressive Asian garden with over 400 kinds of rhododendrons, travel the continents in our alpine garden, explore our native rainforest garden, head back in time in our traditional physic garden overflowing with herbs, discover food growing techniques in the food garden and much more. No visit is complete without a visit to our Shop in the Garden and Garden Centre.

Greenheart TreeWalk - closed for the season on October 31

Discover your adventurous spirit as you navigate suspended walkways and tree platforms high above the forest floor. A  unique and fun experience on the Greenheart TreeWalk swaying bridges amongst the treetops, the walkway is a delight for kids and adults alike.  

Nitobe Memorial Garden - available by donation Nov 1

The Nitobe Memorial Garden is a traditional Japanese stroll and tea garden designed in the memory of Dr. Inazo Nitobe whose wish was to foster global peace and create a bridge of cultural understanding between Japan and the rest of the World.

Directions

Reach us by Transit:

To access UBC Botanical Garden & Greeheart TreeWalk, take public transit to the main UBC bus loop. Transfer to the C20 community shuttle which embarks at Bay 15 and runs daily every 20-30 minutes during operational hours most days. Check schedule on Translink website.

Nitobe Memorial Garden can also be accessed via the #68 UBC Exchange bus northbound (Stop #59125) on NW Marine Drive, or southbound (Stop #61424) on West Mall.

Parking:

UBC Botanical Garden - Visitor parking is available at 6804 SW Marine Drive (NW corner of 16th Ave and SW Marine Drive intersection). Park for up to 3 hours at no charge, additional time can be purchased onsite via the meter or via the Honk Mobile app.

Nitobe Memorial Garden – Visitor parking is located diagonally across from the garden’s entrance at the Fraser River parkade. Parking can be purchased onsite via the meter or Honk Mobile app.
