Summer starts early in Vancouver, and many of but many of our top attractions are showing off some of their best looks and our seasonal partners have opened their doors for summer in this season where every day gets a little longer.


Gardens, gardens, and more gardens… Vancouver’s top gardens, five are included on our website, deliver amazing blooms and seasonal plantings that will inspire everyone.   Head out to VanDusen Garden, the Rhododendron Garden is in fine form until mid June, the Hedge Maze entices and challenges all.  If you have got little ones in tow, check out Bird Celebration Month!  From bird nerd to bird curious, kids can take the Bird Challenge while you explore the Gardens.  UBC Botanical Garden, offers countless opportunities to explore the floral from around the world, and test your courage, and your curiosity on the GreenHeart TreeWalk, this suspended walkway takes you through the treetops and treetop platforms for a very special experience.  Bloedel Conservatory, in the heart of Queen Elizabeth Park, should be on everyone’s list, count the tropical birds, explore the plants and pathways, all under the geodesic dome high above the City.  Truly a Vancouver experience!  Save time to explore the gardens in the park too, set in a stone quarry everyone will be delighted by these well tended gardens and paths.

Then head into to the heart of the city to explore one of Vancouver’s first neighbourhoods.  Include a visit to the Dr Sun Yat Sen Chinese Garden a tranquil experience in the heart of the bustling city, the reflecting pool, home to koi and turtles, is a key feature in this traditional scholar’s garden, and adds to the meditative soothing atmosphere. Include a stop at our newest attraction, the Vancouver Chinatown Storytelling Centre, dedicated to sharing the stories of the Chinese Canadian community from the railway workers to Chinatown’s renowned nightlife and the contemporary barrier breakers who defined Vancouver’s Chinese community.
